Description
Qualifications:
- Professional licensure and an employee of the Harrison County Board of Education preferred.
- Experience with strength and conditioning programs, CPR, First Aid Training and basic annual safety training recommended.
Functions and Duties:
- Develops year-round strength and conditioning programs for students/athletes; determines all aspects of training cycles and phases.
- Plans appropriate sport-specific exercises, exercise sequences, sets, repetitions, and recovery periods for all sports; evaluates appropriate correlation of fitness components necessary to meet optimal individual performance levels.
- Ensures the minimization of risk and severity of potential injuries through appropriate program design; collaborates with medical professionals to recondition athletes following an injury.
- Works closely with nutritional professionals to advise students/athletes regarding appropriate nutrition for optimal physical performance, to include advice or ergonomic substances as well as drug prevention.
- Oversees and administers a resistance training facility for students/athletes.
- Assists in aspects of recruiting and promotion of the weight room.
- Cooperates with building principal and athletic director.
