Description
The Strength & Conditioning Coach is responsible for providing athletic strength and conditioning training, as well as consultation, to ten (10) intercollegiate athletic teams. Additionally, this position supports the Head Athletic Trainer in the following areas; Scheduling The Training Center (Center) for team use, developing and implementing an orientation program for new student athletes, the repair & maintenance of the Center, as well as the safety of equipment contained therein.
Essential Functions:
- Designing programs that are appropriate for each sport and their specific requirements and physical demands in order to maximize performance and athlete safety.
- Programs that are appropriate for the current season (Pre-season, in-season, post-season, recovery sessions, summer programs).
- Be at all team workouts to teach exercises, ensure safe lifting and spotting techniques are being used, ensure equipment is being used safely and correctly.
- Minimize risk of injury through awareness, education, and prevention strategies.
- Give alternative exercises and workouts to injured athletes based off Athletic Trainer recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Athletic Training: Masters Degree preferred.
- Board of Certification (BOC) Certified.
- Certified Athletic Trainer in Good Standing with BOC.
- NPI (National Provider Identifier) Number.
- NATA (National Athletic Training Association) Member.
