Description
The Athletics Department St. Catherine University invites applications for a part-time Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position will develop and manage sports specific individual and group strength training programs designed to meet the nutritional, physical and mental development of the student-athletes participating on the university’s twelve varsity athletic teams.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement and schedule sport specific strength and conditioning programs through fitness testing.
- Compute results and evaluate student-athletes.
- Assist with the planning, scheduling, and overall comprehensive development of a weight training program that improves athletic performance, reduces athletic injuries, and teaches lifelong fitness and movement skills.
- Positively motivate athletes to perform at their best and to have a healthy attitude toward strength and conditioning.
- Represent St. Catherine University athletics to students, colleagues and the public as a positive place where athletes can develop to their best performance under supportive and healthy approaches.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Exercise Sport Science or related field.
- A current relevant professional certification credentialed by an independent accreditation agency—for example, the NSCA Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist® (CSCS®) certification.
- Exposure to analysis and techniques of strength training.
- Current standard first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), and automated external defibrillation (AED) certifications or completion upon hire.
