Description
Under the supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Medicine and Head Athletic Trainer, the Strength and Conditioning Coach will oversee a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all 22 Guilford College athletic teams.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all aspects of a comprehensive strength and conditioning program for all student-athletes and intercollegiate athletic programs.
- Collaborate with coaching staff on team specific programming.
- Have supervisory responsibility and approval for all team specific strength and conditioning programming.
- Collaborate with Sports Medicine staff to assist in educating student-athletes on best practices for injury prevention as well as injury reduction exercises and rehabilitation.
- Collaborate with the Assistant Athletic Director for Facilities, Operations and Intramurals on scheduling usage for individuals and teams use of the Mary Ragsdale Fitness Area.
- Instruct and monitor student-athletes regarding proper weight training techniques.
- Ensure the safe operation of all strength and conditioning equipment with the enforcement and implementation of policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree.
- National Strength Coaches Association’s CSCS certification (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) or equivalency.
- CPR/First Aid certification required.
- A valid driver’s license.
