Description
The S2 Breakthrough Strength & Conditioning Internship is designed to support the practical application of knowledge for those seeking a career in human performance coaching.
Accepted interns will collaborate with S2 Breakthrough Staff in the execution of training programs for softball players. In addition to education on how to utilize our assessment process to guide program design and modification, interns will receive mentorship in applying functional anatomy and delivering instructional cues to athletes to ensure safety and proper form. Interns will learn to integrate traditional strength and conditioning concepts with skill acquisition to support player development and athlete performance
Requirements:
- Documented course work in anatomy and physiology
- Minimum of junior academic standing
- Afternoon and evening availability Monday through Thursday, 2 Saturdays per month
- First Aid, CPR, & AED Certified via AHA Heartsaver course or ARC Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course
- Complete and pass a background check (will be administered if selected for internship)
- Reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications:
- Interest in softball/baseball
- Current or former softball/baseball player
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to clearly communicate verbal directions
Compensation:
- $2,500 per month
- $5,000 for 8 weeks
