Description
Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Performance this position is responsible for assisting with all aspects of the University’s varsity strength and conditioning program. The Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach will direct the strength & conditioning of men’s basketball, men’s and women’s track and one other team.
Essential Functions:

Responsible for the physical development for approximately three American University sports teams and student-athletes. Physically develop student-athletes for all phases of season, pre- and post-season.

Oversees day to day management of strength room, records, and equipment under supervision of Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Performance and keeps all equipment, room and records in good order. Reports any major concerns or need for equipment maintenance or repair to the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Coordinates with Athletic Training Staff on all aspects of team strength and conditioning programs and injury recovery and prevention with assigned sports or athletes.

Participate in continuing education through attendance at conferences, symposium and readings to maintain knowledge of current techniques, trends and advancements in physical development.
