Under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director of Strength and Conditioning, the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Men's and Women's Basketball and Olympic Sports will support and enhance the mission of the San Diego State University Athletic Department. Emphasis for all student-athletes in the Aztec Athletic Weight Training Facility will be on improving strength, endurance, flexibility, and speed. This is accomplished by including traditional and nontraditional concepts of conditioning and strength training under the direction of the Assistant Athletic Director of Strength and Conditioning. Student-athletes will learn the importance of proper diet and nutrition to support the goals for endurance, speed, strength, fitness, and overall conditioning.
Preferred Qualifications and Specialized Skills:
Experience training student-athletes for professional basketball opportunities to include pre-draft development and/ or professional basketball competition.
Demonstrated men's and/ or women's basketball strength and conditioning experience specific to the Division 1 level as a head or assistant strength coach.
Olympic sport experience as a head or assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Knowledge and/ or experience supporting student-athletes nutritional needs.
Ability to administer, demonstrate, and teach strength and conditioning techniques.
Ability to work evenings and weekends and travel to away games.
