Description
The Strength and Conditioning Head Coach will provide leadership and oversight for Adaptive Sports & Fitness strength and conditioning programming. Develop and implement strategy, structure, and initiatives related to strength and conditioning. Analyze, compare, review and evaluate program activities and outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the Assistant Director and Program Manager to create, implement, and assess the strategic plan for UM Adaptive Sports & Fitness, specifically focusing on strength and conditioning.
- Develop, deliver, and provide learning opportunities for students and the University community.
- Support the Assistant Director to identify, establish, and steward donor, sponsorship, and partnership opportunities that support the growth of strength and conditioning programming.
- Manage relationships with existing partners internally and externally to support the growth of strength and conditioning (Existing ASF stakeholders include, but are not limited to - Athletics, Recreational Sports, Disability Network, Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association, United States Tennis Association, National Wheelchair Basketball Association).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in exercise science, sports administration or other sports/exercise-related field.
- A nationally accredited certification in strength and conditioning by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA); Specifically either the NSCA CSCS and/or the CSCCA SCCC.
- 1 or more years of relevant experience with the primary job responsibility of S&C Coach.
- Current certifications in CPR, First Aid, and AED.
