EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Holds or is immediately eligible for a Maryland Administrator I endorsement.
- Holds a Master’s Degree with coursework in Curriculum and Instruction.
- Holds a Maryland Teaching Certificate in Physical Education and Health, PreK-12.
- Five (5) years of successful teaching experience as a?Health or Physical Education teacher.
- Successful experience as a school-based administrator preferred.
- Experience in program evaluation, curriculum development, instructional best practices, assessment development, data analysis, and professional learning preferred.
- Experience in providing professional learning, mentoring, or other leadership roles.
- Experience as a head or assistant coach of an MPSSAA sport required.
- Experience as an athletic administrator preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises and provides leadership in the development and implementation of the prekindergarten through grade 12 Health and Physical Education program.
- Observes, evaluates and collaborates with school-based administrators in the evaluation of teachers and athletic and activities directors.
- Acts as a resource for teachers in addressing the needs of all learners in achieving academic progress and success.
- Develops, creates and curates curriculum that is aligned to content standards, incorporates best instructional and assessment practices that support strong Tier 1 universal instruction.
- Collaboratively develops and implements appropriate professional learning that supports the implementation of the curriculum as intended and instruction that is culturally responsive, inclusive, and equitable.
