Description
This safety-sensitive position coordinates the CARA swim team program. Exercising a high degree of discretion, trust, and confidence to properly execute duties, this position manages program aspects including, but not limited to team activities, meetings, and all program events.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Develops detailed workouts and conducts swim practices for the CARA swim team program.
- Assists the Recreation Coordinator 2 – Aquatics in the administrative functions associated with the CARA swim team program.
- Serves as point of contact for participants’ parents/guardians, manages all communication related to the CARA swim team program.
- Provides a positive and enjoyable environment for program participants, interacts in a pleasant and professional manner.
- Upholds facility safety guidelines and follows all applicable policies and procedures including, but not limited to Parker Aquatics Instructor Guidelines, responsible for the safety of all program participants.
- Ensures practice area is safe, set up and clean, prior to and following each practice; begins practices on time and in an organized manner.
- Ensures all necessary equipment and supplies are present and in proper working order prior to each practice, alerts staff designee of any broken or low stock items. Communicates equipment/supply needs to staff designee prior to practice.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Possession of current First Aid and CPR certification or the ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of hire.
- One (1) year more of swim team coaching experience is preferred.
- Possession of current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification or equivalent course is preferred.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience to provide the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities will be considered.
