AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
- Provide a safe environment to train and motivate children learning to swim, and in advancing swimming skills and techniques.
- Plan and supervise daily classes, with scheduling agreed upon by the Athletic Club Director.
- Plan and supervise private and semi-private children’s swimming lessons, with scheduling guidance from the Athletic Club Director
- Ensure group lessons, and private clients, are always supervised.
- Evaluate individual student performance, explain techniques and assist with skills improvement.
- Monitor aquatics facility and guests, and assure compliance to rules, regulations, policies and procedure; assure facilities are maintained in a clean and safe condition. Promote a positive recreation environment.
- Willing to listen and collaborate with parents and other athletic club staff.
- Ability to work with a variety of ages and levels of swimmers.
- Prevent accidents through the enforcement of policies, rules, regulations, and ordinances governing the conduct of swimming pool patrons.
REQUIREMENTS:
- CPR/First aid and AED certification.
- National Swim Coach Certification.
- Experience teaching swim lessons.
- Lifeguard certification is preferred.
- Experience working with children/youth is preferred.
- Be able to stay in the water for 1-3 hours per day.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Communicate with guests, visitors, and resort employees to their understanding.
- Use sight to perform job functions.
- Ability to provide articulately constructed professional communications.
- Ability to properly communicate all complaints, problems, and matters of concern to the appropriate Department Manager.
