Swim Coaches – Winter Session

The Westwood Recreation Department welcomes applications from qualified candidates for the part-time position of Swimming Coach during the Winter Session. The Swimming Coach will supervise, instruct and coach participants enrolled in various age-group swim programs. The Winter Session runs from November through early March.

Responsibilities:

• Train swimmers in competitive swimming skills and techniques.
• Provide positive reinforcement to swimmers.
• Assist with skill development of participants in their group.
• Prevent injuries and eliminate hazards.
• Enforce rules and regulations in the Aquatics area.
• Recognize and respond quickly to all emergencies.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Prior swim coaching experience required.
• Current American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR/AED, and First Aid certification preferred.
• American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to react quickly in various situations.
