Description
Job Goal:
To develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive athletic program that promotes student-athlete development, academic success, and school spirit. Ensure the program aligns with the school's philosophy, goals, and objectives while fostering a safe, inclusive, and competitive environment for all participants.
Duties:
- Administers Athletic Programs for Midfield City Schools
- Submits all required forms and paperwork to the Alabama High School Athletic Association by the due date.
- Purchase needed uniforms and equipment for all teams.
- Coordinate workers for athletic events.
- Ensures that restrooms and other facilities are clean and in good repair (report as needed to the maintenance department).
- Ensures that receipts for athletic events are handled in a prescribed manner (working with principal and local schools bookkeeper).
- Schedule and pay Officials for all games.
- Maintenance and preparation for game fields.
- Ensure that students are transported to athletic events by securing bus drivers or serving as the bus driver.
- Works with the principals to resolve conflicts.
- Works with principals in planning and implementing initiatives in athletic programs in general.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
- A valid Alabama Professional Educator’s Certification.
- Maintains appropriate certifications and training hours as required.
- Applicants must either currently serve as a full-time academic teacher or obtain a full-time academic teacher position within the Midfield City School System.
- Possess a valid American Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR certification.
- Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.
- Knowledge of Alabama High School Athletic Association Rules and Procedures.
- At least three years of secondary teaching experience.
- Holds a Commercial Driver’s License preferred.
- Appropriately maintains and secures confidential records and inquiries.
- Professionally represents the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff and students.
