Description
BASIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Model KISD core organizational beliefs and values; communicate openly and effectively within and across teams; and manage resources to effectively support District goals.
- Guide collaborative efforts to support effective delivery of services to the District, assigned areas, and other stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
- Identify students who are at-risk and develop appropriate strategies to assist these students.
- Monitor attendance of all students in assigned classes, contact parents, counselors, or other school officials regarding an intervention plan for students with serious attendance problems.
- Utilize technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
- Work with other members of school staff to plan and implement instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes.
- Works with Head Coach on establishing performance criteria for competition and evaluate students’ athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis. Model performance criteria and physical movements required for successful student performance of sport.
- Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Work with Head Coach to schedule competitions and plan season activities including practices, special events, and tournaments.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in teaching area assigned.
- Valid Texas Teacher Certificate in English as a Second Language – Required for all Core Subject Teachers.
- Current First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Certificate.
- Commercial Drivers License (CDL) preferred and will be required for contract renewal.
