Description
Under the direct supervision of the Recreation Coordinator(s) - Sports & Programs, the Tennis Head Coach position is responsible for planning and leading the day-to-day tennis activities that take place during the 2025 season. This seasonal position, ranging from 10-20 hours must be available on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings (into afternoons for Friday matches) from June through July.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Planning tennis activities.
- Conducting team practices and matches.
- Ensures safety regulations and procedures are followed.
- Act as liaison between parents and league.
- Oversee general supervision of assistant coaches.
- Provide a safe and positive environment for participants to practice and compete.
- Must be able to communicate with youth and adults effectively.
- Must be able to travel to and from matches in various locations along the Front Range.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Strong knowledge of rules and regulations of tennis is required.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to handle difficult situations involving participants with patience, good judgment, and diplomacy.
- Course work in recreation, education, or related field preferred.
- Experience in coaching tennis preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge of tennis skills/techniques to efficiently help run the program.
- Experience working with children.
