Description
Under direction, the role of the assistant coach is to assist in the planning, development, and implementation of the policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures pertaining to an interscholastic sports program. Assistant coaches support the head coach in creating and maintaining the vision within the program.
Certification:
- Possession of a valid Red Cross First Aid Certificate, including CPR training methods and procedures.
- Successful completion of Concussion Management and other training courses required by the OSAA.
- Successfully meet the District’s background check process.
- Preferred, but not required: Possession of a valid TSPC license.
- Valid Oregon Driver’s License.
Experience:
- A year of prior Interscholastic athletic or coaching experience (knowledge of sport).
- Experience in, or understanding of sport to be coached. Must meet OSAA standards for coaching certificate. Knowledge of athletic conditioning and care/prevention of injuries.
- Must be a minimum of 22 years of age.
