Description
Under the direction of the MSA Coordinator, the Middle School Athletics Assistant Coach will instruct middle school athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success in their program.
Major Job Responsibilities:
- Assist with supervising student athletes to promote effective student learning through participation in athletic activities.
- Assist with creating plans, developing strategies, and implementing an effective program for the identified sport to prepare athletes both physically and mentally to participate with confidence and self- assurance in athletic contests.
- Assist with preparing and conducting practice sessions that are both stimulating and instructive. Practices will teach fundamental sport skills, as well as emphasize and promote good sportsmanship in the conduct of team members and coaches.
- Assist with the responsibility for all phases of the program involving coordination of facility use in conjunction with MSA Coordinator.
- Communicates effectively, positively, and professionally with athletes, parents, officials, and school administrators.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 21 years of age (WIAA regulation).
- Minimum of two years of experience as an assistant coach.
- Knowledge of effective coaching practices/techniques for the identified sport.
