Calvary Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Track and Field Coach to lead and develop Christian-student-athletes in our middle school and high school program. The ideal candidate will inspire athletes to achieve their personal best, promote teamwork, and foster a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and integrity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement training plans tailored to athletes' individual and team needs for various track and field events (sprints, distance running, hurdles, jumps, throws, relays, etc.).
- Coordinate and oversee practices, meets, and team events.
- Ensure compliance with all school, district, and league policies and regulations.
- Teach proper techniques to improve performance and prevent injury.
- Motivate athletes to set and achieve realistic goals.
- Monitor academic progress and encourage a balance between athletics and academics.
- Ensure the safety of all athletes during practices and competitions.
- Promote and enforce sportsmanship and ethical conduct.
- Stay updated on first aid and CPR certifications.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required).
- Experience: Prior coaching experience in track and field, preferably at the high school or collegiate level.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of track and field techniques, strategies, and rules. Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Certifications: CPR, First Aid, and any state-required coaching certifications.
