Upper School JV Head Baseball Coach

The Haverford School is searching for an Upper School JV Head Baseball Coach for the 2025 baseball season (Feb 21, 2025 - May 15, 2025). This opportunity is for someone with a passion for coaching and an interest in leading and developing a JV baseball program geared to the developmental needs of high school boys.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with organizing and supervising practices and practice plans, set up and take down equipment, hand out equipment, and assist with drills.
• Lead in-game coaching and team management
• Provide a high quality of moral and ethical leadership to student-athletes.
• Sets a positive example for our students
• Participate in achieving departmental goals and objectives.
• Available to help with van transportation
• Works collaboratively with the Director of the Baseball Program and Director of Athletics
• Possesses an understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion and the implementation of those principles in independent schools.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications:

• B.S. or B.A. Degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of coaching experience.
• Training in and an understanding of all aspects of baseball.
• Ability to lead a high school baseball team.
• Ability to work effectively with others.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrates cultural awareness, including knowledge of themselves and the cultural lenses they bring to interactions.
• Sense of humor, enthusiasm, high, ethical professional standards, and a multicultural perspective
• Physical Requirements and Work Environment.
• Works in an environment dealing with various challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts.
• Be able to lift up to 30 lbs occasionally.
