Description
Glenelg Country School seeks an Upper School Physical Education teacher for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year with the possibility of continuing to a permanent position. The teaching assignment is six sections of Grade 9 Physical Education, which includes a mix of trimester classes in team sports, strength and conditioning, and health and wellness. Additional coaching interest and experience, especially in cross-country or track and field, will be significant advantages.
Essential Functions:
- Instruction in the fundamentals of team sports, strength and conditioning and health and wellness.
- Supervision of adolescents engaged in physical activity indoors and outdoors.
- Development of a sense of partnership and teamwork among students and between students and teacher.
- Implementation of teaching strategies, activities and approaches to learning.
- Assessment and evaluation of student progress.
- Active collaboration with colleagues in the support of students and the wider educational program.
- The exercise of good judgment and maturity.
