Upper School: Varsity Boys Golf – Head Coach

Working closely with the Director of Athletics, the head coach is responsible for supporting various aspects of the golf program, including driving the team to practices/tournaments. The coach is required to abide by the rules and regulations established by Pace Academy and Georgia High School Athletics (GHSA).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Possess and maintain a coaching philosophy that is in accordance with the mission of Pace Academy.
• A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept.
• Golf experience and understanding of USGA rules of golf/basic etiquette.
• Effective leadership, coaching and recruiting skills.
• Good communication skills with players, parents and the Athletics Department.
• Energy, creativity, self-motivation and a team-player mentality.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drive golf team to practices, if needed; organize pairings for practice; supervise/evaluate player performance/etiquette during practice sessions/qualifying rounds (grades 8-12).
• Supervise the team at events.
• Represent Pace Academy and the golf program in a professional manner and within the bounds of good sportsmanship.
