Varsity Football Coach

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Previous interscholastic high school and/or youth football coaching experience.
• Appropriate C.P.R. and Pupil Activity Certification PRIOR to the beginning of coaching activities.
• Strong knowledge of youth football coaching fundamentals, techniques, skills and procedures.
• Knowledge of Ohio High School Athletic Association rules and procedures.
• Comprehensive knowledge of rules, regulations, strategies and techniques of the sport.
• Must be willing to commit to evening and weekend practices and events as dictated by the athletic season schedule.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop, manage and supervise all activities associated with the football program at Ellet CLC according to Akron Public Schools and the Ohio High School Athletic Associations' policies, procedures, etc.
• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect and good sportsmanship.
• Monitor and enforces student eligibility criteria for extracurricular participation.
• Assist with the development and coordination of the season schedule.
• Use a variety of instructional techniques to improve and maintain the abilities of student athletes involved in the football program.
• Hold organizational meetings for team prospects and encourage potential athletes to participate in the football program.
• Monitor and enforce student athlete conduct during athletic contests, practice sessions- both on and off school property.
