ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide leadership in the ongoing development and improvement of the program through coordination, planning, evaluation, and overall supervision of the program (varsity, JV, freshmen, and Middle School).
- Responsible for knowing, understanding, and implementing MHSAA rules and regulations and attending the mandatory rules clinic and coaches meetings.
- Must be certified (or willing to be) in CPR/First Aid/AED.
- Plan, conduct, and safely supervise all practices and contests.
- Manage uniforms, equipment, and facilities responsibly.
- Work toward building and teaching good sportsmanship, cooperative work ethic, and responsibility.
- Ability to instruct our student-athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary to realize individual and team success.
- Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students.
- Work toward developing good public relations with the parents, school, booster club, youth league, and community.
- Communicate with the Athletic Director, administrators, assistant coaches, players and parents.
- Provide team rules and practice schedules to athletes, parents, and the Athletic Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 18 years of age and a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred experience coaching/playing at the high school/college level.
- Demonstrates dependability and promptness.
- Provide a foundation for integrity, pride of accomplishment, sportsmanship, self-discipline, goal setting, teamwork and self-confidence.
