Varsity Golf Coach

The Varsity Golf Coach will direct and lead all aspects of the golf program at St. Louis University High, including all levels of the coaching staff.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Executes strategies for engaging student-athletes in mind, body, and spirit in accord with the Athletic Mission Statement and Ignatian values.
• Sets lineup for matches and tournaments in collaboration with other coaches in the golf program.
• Provides instruction to team members aimed at skill development and growth over the season.
• Promotes sportsmanship among coaches and players throughout all levels of the program.
• Attends all required coaches meetings.
• Engages with the student-athletes regarding academic status and eligibility requirements.
• Complies with the Metro Catholic Conference and MSHSAA guidelines.
• Partners with medical staff to ensure completion of physical exams, parental consent forms, waivers, and insurance forms.
• Communicates practice and competition schedule to golfers and families in a timely fashion.

Skills/Abilities:

• Thorough understanding of the sport of golf and possesses strategies on how to communicate and convey that understanding to the student-athletes and coaches in all levels of the program.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and managerial skills.
• Ability to appropriately communicate with student athletes, parents and coaches.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Google Suite or related software.
