Varsity Softball Coach

Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Effective verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with 13-18-year-old student athletes.
• Previous softball coaching experience at the high school level.
• Previous playing experience at the high school or college level.
• Willingness to learn and follow district and MHSAA rules and guidelines.

Position Details:

• Serve as a positive role model to the players and parents.
• Teach skills through effectively planned practices at a level appropriate for each member of the team.
• Condition athletes appropriately for activities requiring endurance, strength and agility.
• Responsible for all aspects of directing the team’s practice and play in games.
• Teach sportsmanship, cooperation, work ethic and responsibility to one’s team.
• Monitor player’s personal conduct during games.
• Manage equipment.
• Effectively communicate with parents about expectations, schedules, etc.
• Performs related duties as required.
