Varsity Tennis Coach

Responsibilities:

• Oversee Boys and Girls Varsity Tennis program.
• Previous tennis coaching (varsity level preferred) and/or collegiate level playing experience.
• Proven ability to handle administrative responsibilities of a sports team.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers, administrators, other staff members, and other coaches.
• Works well with student athletes and possesses good motivational skills.
• Ability to create a positive culture that encourages the growth of the athletes as players and people.
• Ability to deal with and resolve conflict.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with boosters, parents and other tennis supporters.
• Successful experience in mentoring and developing a coaching staff.
• Familiarity with the local youth tennis programs and willingness to make connections and establish relationships.
• Proven ability to attract students to their program and retain them for multiple years.
• Ability to plan long-term and provide direction for the entire tennis program.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Previous tennis coaching (varsity level preferred) and/or collegiate level playing experience.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district staff and the public.
• Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Has high expectations and coaches with passion and integrity.
• Successful experience in mentoring and developing a coaching staff.
• Familiarity with local and regional travel tennis organizations and willingness to make connections and establish relationships that enable a smooth and positive transition from one season to the next.
• Desire to serve others and put others first.
