Description
The Coach is responsible for assisting in all aspects of the teams’ practice and play in games. While most participants will have previous experience, the Coach will lead athletes through drills, team bonding, provide leadership skills, discussions on strategies, and resolve conflicts. During games, the Coach will be directing and providing feedback to the athletes, strategizing and praising good sportsmanship.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Organize the team practices, teaching drills, concepts and strategy.
- Organize players to participate in games and coach them during the games.
- Provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all players, given each athlete an equal opportunity to participate.
- Communicate effectively with the Director of Athletics on processes and policies.
- Serve as a positive role model to players, parents, officials, and fellow coaches by following all rules, demonstrating good sportsmanship.
- Communicate good health and fitness principles and positive character development concepts to players, parents, and spectators.
- Responsible for equipment needed during the season.
- Collaborate with other coaches about skill development and best practices.
- Attend practices, games, coach’s workshops, meetings and events.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in coaching or prior athlete in this sport at a high level; high school, college, or professional level.
- Available weekday afternoons and possible weekends.
- Ability to attend off-site games.
- Eligibility to work in the USA; we are unable to provide sponsorship.
- Pass background check and provide negative TB test.
- Current Bloodborne Pathogen, First Aid & CPR certifications or able to attain within the first 3 months of employment.
