As a member of St. Mary’s Academy coaching staff, you will demonstrate a commitment to SMA mission and vision expressed through the CSJ charism of service to the dear neighbor. The role of a high school volleyball coach goes beyond teaching the skills of the game. It includes responsibilities related to athlete development, team leadership, and fostering a positive sports environment and can teach and model all the aspects of the CSJ charisms.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, strategy, and conditioning.
- Develop game plans and lead the team during matches and tournaments.
- Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a growth mindset.
- Ensure compliance with school and athletic safety policies.
- Mentor student-athletes both on and off the court.
Qualifications:
- Previous volleyball coaching or playing experience (high school or higher level preferred).
- Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Passion for working with high school students and helping them grow as athletes and individuals.
