Winter Basketball – Youth Sports Coach

The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Seasonal Youth Basketball Coaches for the upcoming Winter Youth Basketball League, running from December 2024 through March 2025. We are looking for candidates with a background in coaching or a strong knowledge of basketball, along with a passion for engaging and teaching children aged 5 to 11 years.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop team goals in alignment with JCCSF youth sports program philosophies.
• Organize and lead engaging practices and games that focus on fundamental skill development, using positive reinforcement.
• Attend and lead regular practices and games.
• Provide active coaching during practices and games, guiding the team in skill development and teamwork.
• Follow JCCSF policies and procedures.
• Maintain clear, open communication with players, parents, fellow coaches, and supervisors.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience working with children aged 5-11.
• Understanding of early childhood development (preferred).
• Strong familiarity with basketball.
• Previous experience as a youth basketball coach is preferred.
• Ability to work well within a team and collaborate with others.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Availability for all scheduled practices, games, and meetings.
