Description
The assistant women's basketball coach will assist the head coach in instructing and organizing the women's basketball program; furthermore, the assistant coach reports to the athletic director and head women's basketball coach. The Assistant Coach is responsible for assisting in maintaining the integrity of the program, maintaining an exemplary student-athlete concept, and the personal development of the student-athletes.
Essential Functions:
- Assist in setting up all travel arrangements.
- Responsible for assisting with and staying within a zero based budget.
- Responsible for assisting in maintaining spreadsheets for equipment purchase, film exchange, scheduling, etc.
- Responsible for assisting with budget and reconciling accounts after all recruiting and athletic related trips.
- Serve as academic liaison between the student-athletes and faculty and staff.
- Responsible for setting up Individual Education Plans for each student-athlete.
- Responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Head Coach.
- Participates in public relations activities and fund raising.
- Ensures the highest professional standards and behavior with regard to adherence to NAIA rules and regulations.
- Monitor academic progress and eligibility status for student-athletes.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's Degree required, Master's Degree preferred.
- One year of coaching experience with women or girls in a college, national federation, or high school level coaching experience in basketball is preferred.
- Office management and clerical experience required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license.
