Women’s Basketball Coach

Johnson University’s Athletic Department is seeking a part-time Head Women’s Basketball Coach. This coach manages the Johnson University women’s basketball program in a manner that reflects the values and mission of the department and University, serving as a role model and mentor to the student-athletes to reinforce the highest standards of conduct.

Essential Duties:

• Plan, organize and conduct practices and training programs that will result in a highly competitive women’s basketball program.
• Teach advanced level offensive and defensive skills and game and team strategies.
• Develop and oversee the coaching skills of the assistant coach.
• Establish and enforce standards of conduct and behavior for team members.
• Responsible for developing and overseeing a successful recruitment program of student-athletes for women’s basketball; identify and recruit highly skilled athletes within the rules, policies, and procedures established by Johnson University, the Appalachian Athletic Conference, and the NAIA.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years prior experience as a successful head or assistant coach at the collegiate level or as a head coach at the high school level is preferred.
• A suitable combination of education and experience may be substituted for minimum requirements.
