Description
The Women’s Head Softball Coach position requires an individual who can successfully recruit, sign, and instruct players that can play their sport on the collegiate level while maintaining the academic standards established by the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and Shelton State Community College (SSCC).
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Possess and demonstrate an advanced knowledge of the game and rules of softball and be able to effectively communicate this knowledge to the team.
- Instruct student athletes in the rules and fundamentals of the sport of softball.
- Determine the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques for the Shelton State Women's Softball Team.
- Demonstrate strong leadership skills in coordinating and supervising the softball program.
- Possess and demonstrate interpersonal skills necessary to work cooperatively with student athletes, other athletic department staff and the faculty/staff of Shelton State Community College as a whole.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution.
- Coaching/playing at the two-year college level.
- Essential knowledge of NCAA and NUCAA eligibility and transfer rules.
