Description
The LACCD is accepting applications for Wrestling Head Coach positions at our Colleges for the 24-25 Academic School Year. The purpose of this posting is to create a pool of qualified applicants so that when there is an actual opening at a one of our colleges, the college can then begin their review process by reviewing those applicants.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher and two years of professional experience.
- Associate’s degree and six years of professional experience, which must be directly related to the faculty member’s teaching assignment.
- A sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
- Following and adhering to all guidelines, policies, rules and regulations of the LACCD, the Conference and the CCCAA;
- Where appropriate, delegating responsibility to assistant coaches and volunteers while remaining accountable for all activity in the sport;
- Keeping up to date in the field by attending clinics, workshops, and conferences, by reading professional publications and by communicating with other coaches in the field emphasizing academic achievement;
- Organizing, supervising, directing and evaluating practice/class sessions attending and coaching all practices and contests in the sport recruiting prospective student-athletes;
- Maintaining knowledge of all team members regarding physical well-being, administrative status and eligibility;
- Having a working knowledge of sport supply and equipment budget and inventory counts ordering supplies and equipment as dictated in the guidelines of East Los Angeles College promoting student athletes to prospective colleges, universities and scouts;
- Reporting statistics and records to athletic director, media, conference and state statisticians maintaining positive relations, and communication with media, athletes, parents, campus personnel and other interested parties;
- Accepting evaluation, both positive and critical, and maintaining responsibility for your actions remaining current with CCCAA and sport association rules, procedures and activities.
