Youth Basketball Volunteer Coach

Essential Functions:

• Develop and implement meaningful and instructive practice plans.
• Teach participants the importance of sportsmanship and teamwork.
• Teach participants the rules and regulations of the sport and program.
• Communicate with all stakeholders in the program including parents, players, recreation staff, and officials.

Requirements:

• Coaches are expected to attend an in-person coaches meeting and are responsible for contacting their teams after the meeting and being in communication with parents throughout the season (via email, phone, text, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of the game, rules and the ability to demonstrate and communicate proper skills and drills.
• Ability to deal professionally and tactfully with players, their parents, other coaches, officials, spectators, and recreation staff.
