Description
This position facilitates effective youth hockey instruction by providing fun and safe youth competitions, camps & clinics as part of the Jr. Pioneer Youth Hockey program. In addition to supporting overall competitions/games for the JPH teams, this position will take direct responsibility in running and administering the 5 JPH Youth Hockey tournaments that are hosted on campus, the Spring 3 v 3 league and the June thru August summer camps & clinics.
Essential Functions:
- Oversee and manage all aspects of the 5 youth hockey tournaments JPH hosts each calendar year.
- Support and assist in administration of the Spring 3 v 3 Hockey league & the summer camps & clinics that run from June thru August.
- Assist with all aspects associated with tryouts for all divisions 8U, Rec & Competitive -10 U, 12U & 14U – August & September.
- Engage and interact positively with JPH participants and families, creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
- Provide excellent customer service for all JPH families and visitors that attend JPH sponsored events on campus.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants by following program policies and procedures.
- Recognize and respond effectively and efficiently to emergencies.
- Attend and participate in staff meetings and training sessions.
Qualifications:
- American Red Cross CPR/First Aid/AED Certification, or willingness to obtain CPR/First Aid/AED certification.
- Experience working as a hockey administrator and/or coach.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team.
- Punctual and reliable – able to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays & the 5 scheduled tournaments hosted by JPH.
- Minimum of 18 years old.
- Fingerprint based background check.
- Additional background checks and training as required by Colorado childcare licensing (paid for by the University of Denver).
