Description
The NY DYNAMO youth hockey league is seeking a passionate and dedicated Girls Youth Hockey Coach to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching and a love for the game of hockey. This role involves working closely with players of various skill levels, fostering their development, and promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement effective practice plans that focus on skill development, teamwork, and game strategies.
- Monitor player progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their goals.
- Organize and lead team practices, ensuring a safe and positive environment.
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff to coordinate training schedules and game strategies.
- Promote good sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork among players.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and other stakeholders regarding team activities and player development.
- Maintain knowledge of current hockey techniques, rules, and trends to keep the program competitive.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience in ice hockey required.
- Strong understanding of hockey fundamentals and strategies.
- Experience working with students or youth in a coaching or educational capacity is highly desirable.
- Ability to engage with players of various ages and skill levels effectively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate young athletes.
- A commitment to promoting health, fitness, and well-being among players.
