Description
The Jewish Community Center of San Francisco is looking for individuals interested in being a JCCSF Sports Coach for volleyball. Applicants should have coaching experience and/or knowledge and experience working with children aged 5 to 13 years. The philosophy of the JCCSF youth sports program is to engage children in learning both sport-specific and life skills in a fun and positive atmosphere.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create team goals and expectations in line with the JCCSF youth sports program philosophies.
- Plan practices and games, emphasizing the development of fundamental skills through positive feedback.
- Be a consistent presence at weekday classes. Provide consistent communication with children, parents, fellow coaches, and supervisors.
- Create a warm, friendly environment for all classes.
- Greet all students as they arrive for class.
- Evaluate students’ progress in every class.
- Understand and honor JCCSF mission, core values and customer service standards inside and outside the Athletics department.
- Learn and follow safety and emergency preparedness procedures for the JCCSF Athletics department.
- Additional duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience working with children ages 5-13 years.
- Knowledge of early childhood development helpful.
- Working knowledge of volleyball.
- Experience as a youth sports coach preferred.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Reliability, consistency, and punctuality in attendance.
