QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor's Degree or higher preferred.
- Current Iowa Certificate with appropriate endorsement required.
- Successful teaching experience preferred.
- Plan, evaluate and revise curricula, course content, course materials and methods of instruction in line with the Iowa Core and district curriculum.
- Contribute to the selection of materials and supplies while implementing designated curriculum.
- Employ a variety of instructional methods and materials that are appropriate for meeting stated objectives.
- Provide effective, developmentally appropriate and differentiated instruction for diverse learners.
- Assess the accomplishment of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Promote student engagement in order to inspire and encourage progress while supporting and strengthening the learning capabilities of each student.
- Supervise students’ work, evaluate and grade student performance, assignments and progress.
- Follow professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students’ records, parents and/or colleges.
- Maintain a professional demeanor in dealings with parents and students.
- Assist administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct.
- Develop reasonable rules of classroom behavior and procedure and maintain order in the classroom in a fair and just manner.
- Strive to maintain and improve professional competence; stay abreast of developments in the field.
