Job Overview
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Has a thorough knowledge of all school administrative and athletic policies and is responsible for their implementation.
  • Understands the proper administrative line of command and refers all requests or grievances through proper channels.
  • Attends all required departmental & league meetings.
  • Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills and techniques to be taught by coaching staff.
  • Act in a manner consistent with the Catholic philosophy of the school when dealing with players, coaches, officials, parents and other spectators.
  • Expect and enforce this type of behavior from athletes.
  • Assist the Athletic Director in scheduling, securing transportation and providing required materials for tournament play. Assist in providing transportation to/from events.
  • Assists in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events or practices and adheres to scheduled facility times.
  • Consistently checks Final Forms (daily) for current physicals of student athletes and ensures all paperwork is electronically signed by parents and student athletes.
  • Provides the Player Packet (Expectations/Rules, Uniform Agreement, Participation Fee, Calendar, etc) to the Athletic Director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, sports management, or related field (preferred).
  • Proven experience as a high school coach (preferred).
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Successful BCI and FBI background checks and VIRTUS certified or willing to be certified.
