Longwood University invites qualified applicants to apply for the position of Assistant Coach, Sports Performance - Olympic Sports / Education Support Specialist II (T0028). The Assistant Director of Sports Performance will be responsible for developing and implementing sports performance programs for 3-6 assigned teams. Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• Develop and implement sports performance programs for 3-6 assigned teams, including but not limited to resistance training, conditioning, power development, athlete monitoring, and speed and agility training.
• Motivate and oversee student-athletes during weight room sessions.
• Track and record team training results to demonstrate progress.
• Collaborate with Student-Athlete Enhancement team members to develop a comprehensive wellness plan for student-athletes.
• Collaborate with other Student-Athlete Enhancement team members to plan and implement educational sessions for student-athletes.
• Oversee and maintain the cleanliness of the weight room.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• A bachelor's degree is required; a master's degree is preferred.
• CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) and SCCC (Strength and Conditioning Certification) are required.
• CPR/First Aid certified.
• A minimum of 1 year of experience working at the Division I level.
• Experience working with or playing Division I baseball.
• Experience using TeamBuildr software.
• Ability to manage student-athlete educational workshops on various topics, including but not limited to nutrition, hydration, sleep, and recovery methods.
• Proven ability to enhance sport coach education in the area of sports performance.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division I compliance and the general environment.
