Job Overview
Long Island University (LIU), an NCAA Division I institution, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Assistant Director of Athletic Business Operations. This position is a key member of the LIU Athletics Business Operations team and is responsible for managing the financial operations of designated sports and administrative units within the Athletics Department. Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the budgeting process for designated sports and administrative units.
  • Process and track expenses, ensuring accuracy and adherence to budget limits.
  • Manage invoices, payments, and purchase orders through the university’s procurement system.
  • Handle reimbursement requests for staff and student-athletes.
  • Perform credit card reconciliations, ensuring proper allocations.
  • Coordinate and manage travel logistics for athletic teams.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Athletic Business Operations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher (foreign equivalent accepted).
  • Two to four years of full-time experience in collegiate or professional athletic business operations.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Office 365, and Adobe Suite.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage tasks independently.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
