Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in all facets of the basketball program, including but not limited to on and off-campus recruiting, practice organization, and game planning.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, ensuring compliance in all aspects of the program's operations. Violation of conference or NCAA regulation, as well as those policies of the university, could create negative publicity and jeopardize the University in conference or NCAA standings. Violations by employees will be documented and dealt with on an individual basis and can be cause for dismissal.
- Manage assigned budget responsibly, including overseeing equipment purchases and travel expenses.
- Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and provide support as needed to ensure their success in the classroom.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basketball coaching techniques and strategies, with the ability to develop athletes at every position.
- Uphold and promote a culture of integrity, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct among staff, student-athletes, and representatives of athletic interests.
- Bachelor’s Degree Required.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in collegiate coaching.
- Strong understanding of NCAA rules and regulations pertaining to Division I athletics.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the demands of the basketball season.
