Job Overview
Reporting to the Head Softball Coach, the Assistant Softball Coach is responsible for assisting the head coach in meeting the goals of guiding and building an elite-level NCAA Division II program. This requires the promotion of academic achievement and character of the student-athlete, fans, and the overall College community.
Essential Functions:
- Assist the Head Coach in the day-to-day operations which includes game preparation, organization and implementation of effective practice schedules, off-season programs and in-game coaching.
- Evaluation and recruitment of elite prospective student-athletes.
- Training and development of all student-athletes.
- Monitoring student-athletes’ academic progress and growth as a person.
- Ability to participate and lead in practice and drills.
- Individual workouts, conditioning, and strength training with players.
- Direction, instruction and assistance with summer camps.
- Game day meal planning and organization.
- Travel coordination for away competitions.
- Investment in the lives and growth of student-athletes.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently.

- Must be able to build relationships with prospective student-athletes and families, high school and AAU coaches, community college coaches, faculty and staff, community members, and external vendors.
