Job Overview
The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists the Head Volleyball Coach in the planning, development, administration, and oversight of the volleyball program; with primary focus on teaching, instructing and tutoring student athletes the rules and fundamentals of the sport of volleyball.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assistant Coach will teach, tutor and instruct team members on the rules and fundamentals of the sport.
- Assists with instruction and coaching to advance the performance of each athlete.
- Assists with supervising and coaching the team on all travel of the home and away events.
- Assists with recruiting for the program.
- Responsible for supervising team members at all times during practices, games, and other times as directed.
- Assists with fund raising efforts for the program.
- Ensures compliance with NJCAA; policies and procedures of Lackawanna College and their Athletic program.
- Promotes the well-being of student-athletes.
- All other duties assigned by the Head Volleyball Coach.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License.
- Current certification in American Red Cross CPR / First Aid.
- Trained in use of Automatic Electrodes Defibrillator (AED).
- Knowledge of safety guidelines and protocol.
- Strong Leadership and Interpersonal skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work harmoniously with others.
- Commitment to fulfillment of the College mission.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
