Job Overview
Under the general supervision of the Athletic Director, the Associate Head Coach is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in the overall direction, development and execution of the Girls' Lacrosse program at Orange Lutheran High School. In addition to coaching responsibilities, this role includes assisting in administrative duties, mentoring assistant coaches, contributing to program strategy, and serving as a liaison among players, parents, and school leadership.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Administers and oversees all levels and functions of the Lacrosse program.
- Develops and maintains a high-quality program founded on sound principles of the sport, strong team values, hard work, commitment, loyalty, honesty, respect, sportsmanship, all to the glory to Jesus.
- Establishes the fundamental philosophy, skills, and techniques to be taught by the staff.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with school policies and applicable laws. Duties include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance, coaching, rewarding, and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Works with performance coaches to plan and direct physical conditioning programs.
- Keeps abreast of changing rules, techniques, technologies, and philosophies relevant to the sport.
- Develops off-season training programs and summer opportunities.
- Assists with budgeting, purchasing, and expenditures; maintains, and inventories equipment.
- Communicates program information to school administration, students, parents, and community.
- Coordinates fundraising activities with the Development Office.
- Knowledge of the rules, principles, techniques, and safety procedures of soccer; principles and methods for curriculum and training design;
- instruction for individuals and groups; the measurement of training effects; rules, by-laws, and policies of CIF, Trinity League, and Orange Lutheran High School;
- human behavior and performance, individual differences in ability, personality, learning, and motivation; principles involved in strategic planning, budgeting, and leadership techniques.
- The familiarity of personnel recruitment and training.
