Job Overview
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Department of Athletics and Recreation, providing strategic direction for 19 NCAA Division III teams within the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).
  • Manage all administrative, operational, and business functions of the department, ensuring alignment with university priorities and compliance with Federal, State, SUNY, and NCAA regulations, including Title IX requirements.
  • Hire, supervise, evaluate, and mentor department personnel, fostering professional growth and alignment with the university's mission.
  • Develop and oversee the departmental budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and adherence to applicable regulations.
  • Collaborate with the Fredonia College Foundation to develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan that supports the department's short- and long-term goals, including alumni engagement and external funding opportunities.
  • Partner with institutional and community stakeholders to promote academic success, retention, and holistic student well-being.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree from an accredited higher education institution.
  • At least five years of progressive experience in NCAA or professional athletics administration, including budget management, staff supervision, and facility management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including students, staff, alumni, and community stakeholders.
