Job Overview
The Medford Public Schools will be conducting an open and transparent search for the next Athletics Director to support the student athletes within the Medford Public Schools. This position also currently oversees the Medford Community Schools Program.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates and maintains school-level direct student-athlete recruitment process for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).
- Monitors attendance and academic progress of all athletes and prepares squad lists to verify student-athlete eligibility.
- Supervises and monitors students and supports student retention strategies.
- Establishes a leadership program to support captains and to foster leadership in non-captain student athletes
- Coordinates with coaches that progress reports are reviewed with athletes and support plans are implemented with school leadership.
- Creates innovative programming for student athletes to support them beyond the field of play.
- Implement policies, procedures, plans, and directives promulgated by the Medford School Committee and Central Administration in concert with the laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the City of Medford for the effective and efficient administration of the respective Department.
- At least 5 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
- Bachelor degree preferred.
