Job Overview
The Head Coach is responsible for coaching and providing direction to student-athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork. Qualifications:
  • ISBE teaching certificate or ASEP certification.
  • IHSA concussion and PED test completed.
  • CPR/AED Certified.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Follow district policies and procedures.
  • Organize meetings for prospective club members and encourage participation.
  • Assess athletes' strengths and weaknesses to tailor coaching.
  • Create and implement workout schedules for individual and team development.
  • Coordinate facility scheduling with the athletic director.
  • Instruct players on rules, equipment, and techniques to improve performance.
  • Develop strategies based on team capabilities.
  • Enforce conduct standards and supervise athletes at all times.
  • Track academic performance to ensure eligibility.
  • Encourage high academic standards among athletes.
  • Implement procedures for handling injuries.
  • Maintain open communication with parents/guardians.
  • Comply with athletic program regulations at all levels.
  • Model sportsmanship and appropriate behavior for athletes.
