Job Overview
The Head Coach is responsible for developing student-athletes in the sport of Boys Volleyball at all levels of the program (middle and high school). Other duties include developing a regular practice schedule, recruiting lower-level head and assistant coaches as needed, overseeing the 4th-6th Grade CSAL season, and working with the Athletic Department to develop a competitive program. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop student-athletes in the sport of Boys Volleyball using safe and productive drills, skills, strategies, and instruction in the lesson plans.
  • Motivate and encourage student-athletes in a positive and appropriate method.
  • Provide opportunities to student-athletes in the off-season to train and improve performance.
  • Tracks daily attendance and communicates absences to student-athletes and parents.
  • Tracks the eligibility of student-athletes according to Mid-Pacific, ILH, and HHSAA guidelines.
  • Properly takes care of and stores all equipment on a daily basis, and reports any broken or unsafe equipment to the Athletic Director.
  • Helps the Athletic Department with the issuing and returning of uniforms, equipment, etc.
  • Monitors academic achievement for athletes to ensure academics are kept in focus.
  • Orders (with approval) all equipment needed for the season.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum requirements include holding valid CPR/First Aid/AED certification, or be willing to receive certification.
  • The ideal candidate should have extensive experience as a positive and motivating head coach and must possess excellent communication skills.
