Job Overview
Winston-Salem State University, an NCAA Division II Institution and a member of the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA), is seeking a Head Strength and Conditioning Coach. Minimum qualifications: Bachelors degree in exercise science or a related field is required. Responsibilities:
  • Develop individualized or team-based strength and conditioning programs tailored to specific sports and athlete needs.
  • Determine testing protocols and methods to assess athletes’ strength, power, speed, agility, and other physical capabilities.
  • Design and implement strength and conditioning sessions, focusing on improving strength, power, speed, agility, and other desired athletic attributes.
  • Collaborate with other coaches, trainers, and medical staff to develop and implement comprehensive athlete support plans.
  • Communicate effectively with athletes, coaches, and staff, providing updates on training progress and needs.
  • Maintain athlete records and progress data, documenting training outcomes and progress.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3 years experience,
  • Bachelor's degree in exercise science or a related field is required. Certification through the CSCCA or NSCA is required.
  • SCCC or CSCS are required.
  • CPR and First Aid certifications are required.
  • Qualifying degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions and conferred by the time of hire.
  • Masters degree in exercise science or a related field is preferred.
